Fair Royalty Contests
Represent the Lee County Fair
Each year, the Lee County Fair crowns young ambassadors who represent the fair at events across Lee County and beyond. Our royalty program honors youth through tradition, community involvement, and fair celebration from our Fair Queen to our Little Ms. & Little Mr.
Whether you’re an aspiring ambassador ready to lead, or a young contestant excited to participate in a crowd favorite event, the Lee County Fair offers meaningful opportunities to grow, serve, and shine.
- Entry & Sponsor Form Due: June 1st
- Crowning: July 9th
- Queen: $500 Scholarship1st Runner-up: $300 Scholarship 2nd Runner-up: $200 Scholarship
Fair Queen & Jr. Queen
Be the Face of the Fair
The Lee County Fair Queen is a community role model and representative of the fair throughout the year. This honor goes to a young woman who demonstrates leadership, poise, community involvement, and a passion for Lee County agriculture and heritage.
Role Responsibilities
- Attend parades, community events, and fair-related appearances
- Serve as an ambassador for the fair at local and regional gatherings
- Participate in promotional activities and community outreach
Queen Eligibility
- Must be a female resident of Lee County, Iowa
- Must be at least 14 and not more than 21 years old by the fair year
- Strong communication and leadership skills are encouraged
Contestants are judged on:
- Personal interview and presentation
- Leadership qualities
- Community involvement
- Responses to interview questions

Little Ms. & Little Mr.
A Tradition for Youth
The Little Ms. & Little Mr. Contest is a delightful fair highlight that gives young participants the chance to represent the Lee County Fair with pride and personality. Contestants engage with fairgoers, take part in local events, and serve as role models in the community.
Contest Overview
- Who: Boys and girls who are legal residents of Lee County and/or attend a Lee County school
- Ages: Contestants must be at least 6 and no more than 10 years old as of July 1 of the fair year
- Event Location: Lee County Fairgrounds during fair week
- Activity: Simple interview and crowning celebration with awards
Little Ms. and Little Mr are selected based on the contest rules, contestant presentation, and community sponsorship results. Contestants participate in community events including local parades, fair activities, and may assist with select fair presentations.
